Blouse to Room

I found this great blouse on ModCloth.
blouse
I can’t get past the color combination. This season, mixing colors and patterns is all the rage and this blouse is a great example of the colors of Summer. It got me thinking (I know, STOP EVERYTHING) this would look great in a room. I put together a collection of some great rooms using these colors.

What color trends are you into this Season?

To Brass? or Not to Brass?

As most of you may have noticed, brass/gold is making a comeback. At first I was very hesitant because I am part of the silver/white gold era. Everyone's wedding rings are white gold or platinum. House light fixtures are polished/rubbed nickel or chrome. (with a little oil rubbed bronze in the mix) In the recent year and more-so months, brass is coming back. The difference in
"today's brass" compared to the "brass of 80's past"
is the patina. Most of the things that I have seen recently don't have that crazy polished brass look. It's softer and not nearly as harsh. It's more of an antiqued brass. Anywho. . . Here are some examples of the beautiful brass things that are floating around out there.

In this first photo i noticed the Pendant light fixture. I think it's absolutely beautiful and the gold adds just enough without being overpowering. It's a very elegant chandi!

This lamp is oh so gold, but it screams CHIC to me! It has very classic lines and I think it could be worked into any design. I mean, look how the teal glass looks next to it. The color combo is uber gorgeous!

This next lamp is very simple and dare I say delicate. It ads just the right amount of femininity to this table but is subtly masculine at the same time. And there it is with teal again. I think I might be onto something here.

This little beauty was recently spotlighted on a la mode which has become one of my new favorite blogs! I don't even know how to describe this little table. It is exactly what I have been searching for and I didn't even know that I was looking!  I just know that I absolutely love it!

Both of these beauties are from Ballard. Who doesn't love a good sunburst mirror? The trellis design on the other is also very beautiful.

What do you think? Let me know if you'll give in and add it to your decor.

So there you have it. Gold is making a comeback and I'm going to concede from

Mint, Red and Navy

Master Bedroom Inspiration Session. . . Sometimes this feels like a therapy session. I look at a picture and it’s like a little voice says, “And how does that make you feel?” Well I’ll tell ya. . . Navy, Mint and Red make me VERY happy!!! I can’t even tell you how excited I am right now. Check out the inspiration pics and let me know what you think. I think yes!

If all of these pictures got together and had a baby it would be the beautiful Master Getaway I know have pictured in my head. I feel like it’s going to burst. I can’t wait to get started and hopefully, FINALLY have a finished product to share. . . eventually.

Fabric: Kalah Blue

Ever since I first saw Kirsten Krason's living room with this fabulous fabric, I kinda became its stalker. It's beautiful! My plan is to eventually have a couple panels either in my room or the family room. Who knows, maybe BOTH! Here are a few other places I've seen this beauty show up. Enjoy!

LOVE! Here's to hopin I can get mine!

I about DIED!

Any of you that have NOT read Mandi's blog Vintage Revivals, is seriously missing out! She is just about as fabulous as they come. Her home is fabulous beyond words, she's been on the Nate Berkus Show TWICE and is a thrift store crazed hoarding junkie just like I want to be. I mean that in the best way possible. On my last visit to her blog she revealed her Entry with the most Ah-Mazing ceiling EVER! Check it out. . .

Didjya catch a peek at that ceiling!?!

A herringbone ceiling! ARE you KIDDING me!?!

And THAT bike mural!  Nough said.

 Ah sweet lovelyness.

I have found my next project. My main bath received a mini makeover, but need something "else" to finish the look. Aside from new tub surround tiles and shower curtain. This is JUST the jujj it needs. I CAN'T wait to do this. The Hubs WILL be horrified by the thought of this, so he will not be privy to the idea before it's completed. Am I the only one who has this issue? I hope not.

Staging a Nightstand

I have recently been struggling with how to stage my nightstand. It is a place that I can "stage" and not have to worry about it getting messed up by everyday life. I feel like every time I move something or try to rearrange it, it just looks weird. I've figured out that when it comes to the nightstand, this is a place to add interest and pizzazz to a room! Pictures, mirrors, flowers, lamps and trinket trays. Here are some beautifully staged nightstands that will hopefully help me get the job done!

Another thing that I like about nightstands is that the accessories can seem random, but organized at the same time.
Is your nightstand staged?
