The Guest Room

This room has been a complete work in progress since The Hubs inherited his high school bedroom set and turned a room in our house into a guest room. Don’t EEEVEN get me started on the fact that I USED to have a craft room. I decided instead to begin a mini makeover on the room and this is the result as of yet. It still needs some accessories here and there as well as some other changes that I have in mind. For now, this is our guest room and I’m very pleased with the progress.
This room used to be Hunter's room so here goes.

There was waaay too much orange stained oak in this room. (Much like the rest of the house.) There was only so much I could do at one time without giving The Hubs a heart attack.
(this desk had got to CHANGE)
So that’s the guest room thus far. I still have plans for the built in, desk, accessorizing the walls, etc. It is a VAST improvement and will only get better from here! I’ll keep you posted with details from the progress that I’ve made, as well as changes as they come. I can’t wait to see it transform even more!

Beautiful Spaces
Here are a couple photos that made me smile during this wonderfully hectic weekend. The spaces are beautiful and serene.
A Breath of Fresh Air
When I first started this post, it had been less than a year since we had moved into our home. Since then, the main bathroom has undergone a few updates. Here is the bathroom in pictures.
These projects are, after all, a way to discover me, my style and what works for our everyday. I'll show some How to's and How don'ts on the different stages of this bathroom. If you're lucky, I might also share my big plans for the future. Well they're not that big; maybe 12"x12" is all.
First we have the Yellow Canary
Then the bathroom went stark white so you open your eyes upon entry.
I was channeling my tribal heritage (and Mandi from Vintage Revivals) when I made this shower curtain. (More on that later)
Then I added some Board and Batten
Finally, once I decided I wasn't a Mandi Goubler (I LOVE her, but i'm not her), I came to terms with my actual style and landed on this. It makes me so happy to see this bathroom now. Don't get me wrong, the other options were great and I loved them all for a time. This final scheme, however, is the serenity with a pop of fun that I needed. I mean, who doesn't love fireworks on their shower curtain!?!

House Tour: The Hunted Interior
As of lately I have a new favorite blogger home. The Hunted Interior. I'm sure you've seen her around town, but I have to share her home since I've been ogling over it for months and months and months. Her home feels alive. Looking at the photos of her home, I feel like I can feel the movement and life of this home. Kristin Jackson is the fabulous blogger/designer behind this home and has talent indeed. She uses color without feeling like you just stepped into a crayola factory. Her home feels mature, yet comfy cozy. Just the kind of place I could live. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Be sure to check out her blog! She has some fantastic tutorials to share as well as more of this fabulous home.
